I've always been a fan of Tanya Taylor with her boldly artful, yet feminine designs. Coming from similar upbringings in Toronto attending the same all-girls school, it's been inspiring to see Taylor's prints embraced by powerful women, like Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Obama and Canada's own Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau. For my latest trip to L.A. this month, I was lucky enough to try a few of Tanya Taylor's statement embroidered pieces, which were effortlessly transitioned from day-to-night.
Taking a drive to Malibu, where we stopped for a stunning ocean-view lunch, I wore Tanya Taylor's striped Caro Dress with colourful cross-stitch designs and a split-v neckline accented with a belted waist. A cotton design, the dress felt light and airy enough to wear in summer, and I paired it with Gucci round-frame sunglasses and my favourite Stuart Weitzman saddle suede heels.
This flirty, feminine dress was a dream, from its island-inspired beaded and sequin accents to the cheery ruffled detailing along the hem. It was a perfect summery statement for an evening in L.A.
